I installed CrunchBang Linux on my laptop.
Crunchbang (#!), is a debian based light distribution with openbox (my favorite) as the default window manager.
This laptop is an aging Del d420 that I’d purchased on ebay a couple of years ago for like $100.
It has a 1.2ghz cpu and 1gb of ram.
#! seems to function excellently on it.
The laptop was previously running Peppermint OS, another light-weight gnu/linux distribution, but based on Ubuntu and Linux Mint.
