I’m astounded that the school of thought that the poor are poor because they are lazy is so prevalent in our society. It’s like a premeditated smear campaign against the underprivileged with the goal of marginalizing them so that their needs become irrelevant to a wealthy status quo. The fact of the matter is that some of hardest working people in the US are some of the lowest paid while insanely exorbitant wages are paid to CEO’s of transnational corporations who essentially produce very little in actuality.

The poor and underprivileged aren’t lazy, they simply don’t have a government that adequately represents them. The poor cannot afford lobbyists. The poor cannot buy elections. The poor do not have politicians in their pockets. When our government is populated by the wealthy, whose interests are primarily represented?

Our current president and members of congress are so far removed from the daily plight of the poor and underprivileged in our country that they are simply incapable of understanding why social programs are so vital, why living wages should be a RIGHT instead of a DREAM, and why a growing number of poor and underprivileged citizens have simply stopped voting - because their voices are not heard.

This is the end result of unfettered capitalism: a country where only the wealthy matter.

Five Reasons Why The Very Rich Have NOT Earned Their Money

The wealthiest Americans believe they’ve earned their money through hard work and innovation, and that they’re the most productive members of society. For the most part they’re wrong. As the facts below will show, they’re not nearly as productive as middle-class workers. Yet they’ve taken almost all the new income over the past 30 years

SCIENTISTS DISCOVER NEW ELEMENT!

#Oxford University researchers have discovered the heaviest #element yet known to #science.
The new element, #Governmentium (symbol = Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy #neutrons and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an #atomic mass of 312.
These 312 #particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called #pillocks. Since Governmentium has no #electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact.
A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a #reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete. Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2 to 6 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganisation in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.
In fact, Governmentium’s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganisation will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This #hypothetical quantity is referred to as a critical morass. When catalysed with money, Governmentium becomes #Administratium (symbol = Ad), an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium, since it has half as many pillocks but twice as many #morons.
